The British publication The Telegraph stated that Putin’s army launched an offensive in the north of the Kharkov region a month earlier than planned by the military leadership of the Russian Federation, in order to take the Armed Forces of Ukraine by surprise, reports “NBN.”
Senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment Michael Kofman claims that the Russian Armed Forces’ attempt to launch attacks in the region came as a surprise to them. The offensive in the Kharkov region had a significant impact on the overall strategy of military operations and the training of military units of the invaders.
The media writes that the 4th Army Corps of the “second army of the world,” which should be involved in the offensive in the Eastern direction, had not yet completed the required studies before the start of active hostilities. As a result, there was a month-long delay in the preparation of the “liberators” for the planned attacks in the Donbass.
Journalists note that when the situation in the Kharkov region began to become more complicated, the Russian military command decided to redirect forces from the east of Ukraine to the north of the region. Such actions affected the speed and effectiveness of the offensive of Putin’s army in the Donbass.
Earlier, the Kharkov OTGV commented on reports about the enemy’s preparation for a new offensive in the north of the region.
