Today, July 31, information appeared about the liquidation in Tehran of the head of the Hamas “politburo” Ismail Ghaniya, which, apparently, was a response to the missile attack on a football field in Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights (northern Israel), as a result of which 12 Israeli children were killed, which seems to have aggravated the situation in the Middle East.

As NBN reports with reference to a statement by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, published by Reuters, the outbreak of a global war in the Middle East due to increased regional tensions is not inevitable, but in a scenario involving an Iranian attack on Israel, the United States will definitely intervene.
According to Austin, the US's current priority goal remains de-escalation of tensions: Washington will continue to work hard to ensure that everything possible is being done to reduce the temperature and resolve a number of issues through diplomatic meetings.
At the same time, the head of the US Defense Department does not consider a large-scale war to be likely in the Middle East is too high, since the US is implementing the measures described above.
Austin summed up:
I think there is always room and opportunity for diplomacy.
Earlier we wrote about Austin rejecting the possibility of providing Ukraine with Patriot systems deployed in Poland.
