According to updated data from the Pension Fund of Ukraine, at least 10.3 million Ukrainians are pensioners, but the state does not guarantee a decent amount of social support for age-related disability to all of them.

As reported by NBN with reference to the official page of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, benefits exceeding the amount of UAH 10,000 are received by only 1,281,468 citizens, which is no more than 12.5 percent of the total number of pensioners.
In particular, the highest amount of social assistance, according to the average indicator, is in the capital – UAH 7,940. Further in the ranking are:
- Rivne region – UAH 7,255;
- Donetsk region – UAH 7,138.
- Luhansk region – UAH 6,679.
- Dnipropetrovsk region – UAH 6,402.
The lowest pensions and pension benefits are for residents of:
- Ternopil region – UAH 4,436.
- Chernivtsi region – UAH 4,639.
- Zakarpattia region – UAH 4,667.
