At night and early in the morning of August 22, a massive drone attack was carried out on the Volgograd region – a military airfield caught fire, about which the authorities and the local population complain.

As reported by NBN with reference to the Telegram channel Krym.Realii, despite the words of the region's governor Andrei Bocharov about repelling the UAV attack on the Marinovka airbase and destroying most of the drones, a large-scale fire nevertheless broke out on the territory of the Russian Defense Ministry facility, as evidenced by images from orbit.
This morning, residents of Kalach-na-Donu posted footage of what was happening, complaining about the sounds of drones flying overhead, the work of air defense, as well as intense shooting at the airfield, accompanied by a deafening detonation. At the same time, the population of the military town has already been evacuated.
However, based on photographs taken by NASA, on Thursday night, several fires broke out on the territory of Marinovka, apparently engulfing at least 30 military aircraft and 8 trucks that were on board ;footage from August 19.
