How NBN reports with reference to the Suspilne article that our athletes were awarded the Order of Freedom, which is a state award recognizing citizens for outstanding and special merits that in some way affirm the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
It is assumed that the next awarding procedure was “provoked” by a number of very important and well-founded reasons:
- in May of this year, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk managed to defeat Briton Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury, becoming the absolute world champion in boxing in the super heavyweight category;
- at the recent Paris Olympics Games-2024 (ended on August 11), Olga Kharlan was able to win gold and bronze, achieving record figures against the background of fellow athletes in terms of the number of awards.
Earlier, our information portal wrote about the fact that the former coach of the Ukrainian boxing team Loivsky spoke about the likely winner of the rematch Usyk vs. Fury.
