As NBN reports with a link to the statement of the official representative of the Pentagon, Major General Patrick Ryder, published by the Voice of America, Washington still does not intend to allow the Defense Forces to strike targets located in the rear areas of the terrorist state with American weapons.
According to Ryder, the Ukrainian army is only allowed to use the provided American military assistance as part of self-defense measures aimed at repelling attacks from abroad (RF). In particular, we are talking exclusively about retaliatory fire on the objects of the “second army of the world.”
The Pentagon representative separately emphasized:
…But as for long-range strikes deep into Russian territory, our policy has not changed.
Thus, at this stage of the war, Ukraine is allowed to act only “within a certain radius” in order to prevent offensive actions by Putin's troops.
Earlier, we wrote that the Pentagon still allows for an escalation of the war due to Ukraine's strikes deep into territory of the Russian Federation.
