As NBN reports with a link to Bibliotech's material, it is easy to prevent electrical appliances from burning out from the above-described surprises – simply by following some recommendations.

To protect equipment from damage due to such fluctuations in power supply, it is necessary to:

  • turn off devices from sockets in advance (for example, before the hourly shutdown schedule comes into effect, and also before power is restored), which reduces the risk of equipment failure;
  • install a relay/voltage stabilizer – the first “device” automatically turns off the equipment when a danger is detected, and the second normalizes the electricity to safe values, that is, 220 volts;
  • use a generator/charging station, which will serve as backup sources of electricity;
  • “embed” an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) between the electrical network and the equipment, which will “smooth out” voltage changes, since it will switch to batteries during power surges/outages, ensuring the continued operation of other devices.
