According to the data of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, out of 35,000 artillery shells received, 5 of every 10,000 fired exploded close to the gun crews.

As NBN reports with reference to the material of the German publication Handelsblatt, Kyiv complained about the provision of low-quality artillery ammunition, both within the framework of the “Czech initiative” and and directly sent from the USA.
As it became known, in August of this year, the Ukrainian command notified Prague regarding incidents with explosions of shells, which provoked injuries to defenders of our country.
In particularly, during the period of combat use of Western ammunition, numerous explosions were recorded at a short distance—20-60 meters from the muzzle of the gun, which not only damaged Western artillery systems, but also injured the defense forces fighters.
The publication claims—the reasons for the above-described malfunctions are old M515 detonators and M51A5, produced during World War II.
It should be noted that some of the ammunition supplied to Ukraine within the framework of the “Czech initiative” is not produced in the EU, but is purchased from Turkey.
