The former commander of the US Army in Europe, in an interview with journalist Natalia Moseychuk, commented on the assumptions that the war in Ukraine could end like the division of Germany and Korea, NBN reports.
According to the retired general, he does not like any of these comparisons and considers them inappropriate. Hodges recalled that in the case of the division of Korea and Germany, there were armed forces of the United States and other allies that had to hold positions between parts of the divided countries.
The NATO senior logistics adviser believes that Washington will not agree to such a deployment of forces in Ukraine. In addition, if Kyiv is forced to give up some territories to the Russians, such a development will be bad for Europe.
The former commander of US forces in Europe reproached Ukraine's allies for not doing enough for its victory, in particular, not trying to stop the export of gas and oil from Russia to China and India.
Recall that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov named a condition for ending Russian aggression against Ukraine.
