As reported by “NBN” with reference to the material “Radio Liberty”, before the arrival of EU leaders at the Brussels summit, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda spoke about the prospects of Volodymyr Zelensky's “victory plan”.
Based on Nausėda's words, the above-mentioned plan consists of a number of initiatives and measures that partner countries were unable to implement earlier:
- an emergency invitation for Ukraine to join the North Atlantic Alliance, on which no consensus has been reached either in Vilnius or in Washington;
- permission for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike deep into the Russian Federation, including the provision of appropriate long-range weapons, which also did not find full support among the allies.
The Lithuanian President added that the final “victory plan” does not contain new proposals, and insisted that its implementation directly depends only on the “wishes and abilities” of the partners providing support to Ukraine.
