As NBN reports, citing material from the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW), South Korea's support for Ukraine will likely increase in the near future due to the arrival of North Korean army units in the Russian Federation.
ISW analysts point out that Seoul has made it clear that it is potentially ready to expand military aid to Kiev amid ongoing signals from Ukrainian military intelligence regarding the deployment of North Korean forces near the Russian-Ukrainian border.
In particular, the Institute for the Study of War cites a warning from South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, who On November 1, he announced that he was considering all possible scenarios, answering a question regarding the potential sending of weapons to Ukraine after the deployment of North Korean troops in the Russian Federation.
In addition, Cho separately emphasized that South Korea will monitor the activity of North Korean troops in the Russian Federation and study the “benefits” that Moscow guarantees to Pyongyang in order to determine the vector of action.
