As NBN reports with reference to the material of Le Journal du Dimanche, The head of the French Defense Ministry, Sebastien Lecornu, announced the dispatch to Ukraine of a new, rather modest batch of SCALP missiles (analogous to Storm Shadow), and Mistral-type air defense rocket munitions.
According to Lecornu, since in the winter period the Russian Federation traditionally intensifies strikes deep into our country, France intends to transfer to Ukraine an unspecified number of Mistral anti-aircraft missiles to protect the skies, as well as 10 relatively long-range SCALP missiles for retaliatory attacks on the aggressor country, “as French President Vladimir Zelensky promised.”
It should be noted that the export modification of the SCALP missiles differs not only in a smaller warhead, but also in a reduced radius of destruction goals—290 kilometers, instead of 560 kilometers.
