The day before, Syrian rebels entered the center of Aleppo, the country's second-largest city (controlled by dictator Bashar al-Assad since 2016), which was a response to Russian and local air strikes on civilians in Idlib.

As reported by NBN with reference to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Kremlin was forced to intensify diplomatic efforts, seeking to help the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad survive amid an active offensive by rebel troops.
It is assumed that the rebels have achieved some success, since the terrorist state was forced to transfer its troops from Syria, apparently for use on the front lines in Ukraine.
Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War note that yesterday, November 30, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov contacted the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, discussing the need to coordinate joint actions within the framework of the Syrian Peace process initiated by Moscow, Ankara and Tehran in December 2016.
In addition, that same day, Lavrov spoke by telephone with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, proposing to expand identical joint efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in Syria.
Earlier, we wrote about how Lavrov spoke about Trump's promise to end the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in 24 hours.
