As NBN reports with reference to Sky News material, The head of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže made a statement: Western leaders are waiting for the Donald Trump administration to begin work in order to move on to resolving the issue of Ukraine's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
Based on Braže's words, the partners managed to agree on Ukraine's membership in NATO, but the issues of what conditions will be put forward to Kyiv, as well as when exactly the integration will take place, have not yet been resolved by the Alliance. In particular, all NATO member states are currently waiting for the new US administration to take office, which is one of the aspects “that is talked about or not talked about, but it is a reality.”
The official added that the battle-hardened Ukrainian Defense Forces will be an important asset for NATO, however:
Some countries do not feel comfortable inviting a country that is at war to join NATO.
Earlier we wrote about Baerbock announcing the condition for sending German troops to Ukraine.
