During an address to the human rights community, the President stated that Russia is holding 6 city leaders and community leaders among thousands of innocent Ukrainians. Some of them have been held by the enemy not only since 2022, but also since 2014, the NBN publication reports.
According to him, official Kyiv is doing everything to get them back – looking for political and legal opportunities and attracting intermediaries. The head of state recalled that 3,767 citizens of our country have already been released from captivity.
The Ukrainian leader recalled that the day before it became known about the death in Russian captivity of the mayor of Dneprorudny in the Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Matveyev, whom the occupiers captured in March 2022.
The guarantor believes that the international community is reacting little to what the Russians are doing with the prisoners, to the kidnapping of Ukrainian children, to what is happening in the VOT. Zelensky added that the “freezing” of military operations is currently being discussed, while no one is talking about what fate awaits our citizens under occupation.
As reported, the presidential adviser answered whether the mobilization age in Ukraine will be lowered to 18 years.
