As reported by NBN with reference to the material of Ukrainsky Football, Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Ivan Losenko, who was loaned to Ingulets-Petrovo, recalled how he started playing in the youth team of Dynamo Kyiv.
According to Losenko, he was not included in the key composition of the junior team because “he was not born there.” In particular, in 2014, the family of the promising footballer decided to move to Kiev, and from that moment until 2016, Ivan played for Dynamo, until he chose Shakhtar, which opened an identical sports academy in the village of Schastlivoe (Boryspil district near Kiev).
The player recalled that he attended daily training sessions of the “white-blues” in Nyvky and Koncha-Zaspa, but soon there came a time when the management of the capital’s club divided the “guys of our age” into two teams, and when his father asked why Ivan they don’t let me play in the first one, — “the Dynamo coach explained this by saying that I’m from Donbass and can then leave for the [temporarily] occupied territories.”
Losenko summed up:
Have you encountered discrimination against migrants? Yes.
