As of the fall of this year, the average pension benefit in Ukraine was UAH 5,852, while at least 50 percent of elderly citizens receive much smaller amounts – from UAH 2,900 to UAH 4,200.

As reported by NBN, citing the material from the specialized publication Na Pensii, in accordance with calculations conducted by Lidiya Tkachenko, a senior research fellow at the Institute of Demography and Social Research, starting in March of next year, pension benefits for elderly Ukrainians, after traditional indexation, will increase by 10 to 12 percent, instead of the previous 6 percent.
Based on Tkachenko’s words, funds for the March indexation have already been included in the state budget for 2025, and therefore the recalculation process is inevitable. However, the exact amounts that pensioners will receive “in hand” are still unknown – the pension and social department will not tell you how much money this category of the population should expect before the beginning of next year, since the final amount of the benefit depends on the index of general annual inflation and the average salary in the country.
Thus, the increase in pensions next year will occur, judging by everything, due to the increase in the average salary of Ukrainians – according to statistics from the Pension Fund of Ukraine, starting from the second quarter of 2024, a noticeable increase in the income of officially employed citizens has been recorded.
Earlier, we wrote about the fact that The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminded which pensioners need to confirm their “presence as alive” before December 31.
