As reported by “NBN” with a link to the material GsmArena, various versions of M5 processors will appear on sale gradually, during 2025-2026: the basic version – in the first half, M5 Pro/Max – in the third quarter, and the top M5 Ultra – only from 2026.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the M5 chips will be manufactured on the basis of the 3-nm TSMC N3P process technology, which will reduce energy consumption by 5-10 percent, if compared with the N3E used in M4— improved technology will speed up the operation of “apple hardware” within 5 percent.
In addition, in Pro, Max and Ultra, Apple developers will integrate the “server” type of architecture System-on-Integrated-Chips-molding-Horizontal (SoIC-mH), thereby reducing the size of microchips by 30-50 percent, and also optimize thermal efficiency and minimize the risks of “throttling” (a drop in performance due to overheating).
Also, in M5 processors, the CPU (computing part) and GPU (graphics part) will be separated, which will likely provide an increase in performance, significantly accelerating the execution AI tasks (artificial intelligence).
