The spokesman for the operational-strategic group of forces “Khortitsa” Viktor Tregubov spoke about the tactics of the Russian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk area in order to avoid a frontal assault on the city.

Tregubov spoke about the fighting near Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast on the national telethon. He said that the invaders are two kilometers from the outskirts of the city, the NBN publication reports.
According to him, this section of the front has been the hottest area for several weeks. The Russian Armed Forces are trying to encircle or semi-encircle the city through neighboring settlements.
A representative of the Khortitsa Joint Forces Group explained that Pokrovsk is a large and fairly well-fortified city. Therefore, the Russian Federation troops are trying to avoid a frontal assault, given that the invaders are bogged down in urban battles in other areas of the front, in particular in the cities of Chasov Yar and Kurakhovo.
Considering these factors, the Russian occupiers are trying to bypass Pokrovsk in order to break the infrastructure chains.
Recall that the day before, an officer of the 59th Motorized Rifle Brigade said that Putin's army is trying to encircle Pokrovsk.
