On January 2, the President and First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska gave an interview on the national telethon, during which the head of state said that he expects to meet with Trump after his inauguration, writes the publication “NBN”.
According to the guarantor, during a telephone conversation with the newly elected head of the United States, the Republican said that he would be waiting for him to visit him first. The 47th American president also recalled that ending the Russian-Ukrainian war is a priority for him.
Considering Trump's words, Zelensky assumes that after the Republican takes office as head of state, they will hold a meeting. After that, Kyiv and Washington will begin working together on steps that should stop the hot stage of hostilities.
Also in the interview, the leader of the Ukrainians assessed Putin's readiness for negotiations to end the war.
