It will take a lot of investment, both time and money, to train your own AI model, and not so much effort to “appropriate” this software.

As reported by “NBN” with a link based on the material of the University of North Carolina, to “steal” AI (artificial intelligence), the researchers used an electromagnetic probe, a number of pre-prepared identical models with open source code, and also connected the Google Edge Tensor Processing Unit (TPU).
As it became known, the method of “stealing” an AI model is based on the analysis of electromagnetic radiation during the operation of the TPU: to decipher the parameters of the software, the scientists compared the data of this field with the statistics of the operation of other similar “androids” running on a similar chip.
As a result, the specialists determined the features of the architecture and specific differences, known as “layer details”, cloning the AI model with an accuracy of 99.91 percent. All this became possible thanks to the opening of physical access to the TPU chip – both for probing and for launching other models.
