According to the publication, over the past few days, China's medical infrastructure has faced a sudden surge in respiratory diseases, reminiscent of an identical outbreak during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on the words of Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, everything is explained simply – the traditional peak of respiratory infections often falls on the winter season, and overcrowded hospitals are not a critical indicator, since the new disease, judging by everything, is not as serious and is spreading on a smaller scale when compared to previous years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the same time, the media in neighboring countries (Indonesia, India and Japan) also warned their citizens about the worsening situation in China and recommended taking the necessary precautions to avoid infection.
