During the annual press conference of ambassadors in Paris, the head of France said that his country's military personnel are leaving African countries, which they helped carry out anti-terrorist operations against jihadists, the publication writes “NBN”, citing the Ukrinform agency.
According to the head of France, his army was present in sovereign African countries at the request of their leadership. However, coups took place in these countries and juntas came to power with the support of the Russian Federation.
After that, Paris ended its military presence in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, last month began to withdraw its army from Chad, and will also soon withdraw its soldiers from Senegal.
“We are not assistants to the putschists,” the French leader said.
The politician clarified that France is not retreating on the mainland, but is “seeing the light and reorganizing.” The President drew attention to the fact that the leaders of African states forgot to thank Paris for everything it has done for them over the past 12 years.
Also at a meeting with French ambassadors, the head of state called on Ukraine to conduct “real discussions” on territorial issues.
