During the press conference “1000 days of unfreedom” Okhrimenko responded that he is slowing down the exchange of prisoners with the Russian Federation according to the formula “all for all”, the publication “NBN” reports with reference to Novini.LIVE.
According to him, the number of captured citizens of our country and Russians is incomparable, because there are now more of our people in captivity of the Russian Federation than representatives of the terrorist state in our country.
The head of the secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported that work on the exchange in the format of “all for all” is continuing, but there is an obstacle in the form of Moscow's position.
The official urged not to forget that the troops of the aggressor country have captured 20% of the territory of Ukraine, where about 3.5 million citizens live. These people are potential hostages of the Russian occupiers.
Recall that the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets commented on the executions of prisoners of war by the invaders. The ombudsman explained why there are more such cases.
