A correspondent for the British publication The Guardian notes in his article that the capture of two DPRK soldiers by the Ukrainian military in the Russian border region was a unique moment in the Russian war against Ukraine, NBN reports.
According to him, confirmation of the fact of participation of foreign troops in military operations on the side of the Russian Federation has become very important for the international community and its decisions in the context of providing assistance to Ukrainians. Harding called the capture of North Korean fighters a great success for Kyiv, since Moscow and Pyongyang claim that DPRK soldiers are not participating in the war.
The journalist noted that the Ukrainian authorities hope that such a success of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will become an incentive for increasing support from Western countries and will push these countries to send an important signal to the North Korean leadership about the consequences of supporting Russia.
Recall that the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense hinted at what fate awaits the DPRK fighters captured in the Kursk region.
