As reported by “NBN” with reference to the material of Radio Liberty, Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Melnyk made a statement – the start of teaching basic general military disciplines to students of higher educational institutions is scheduled for September of this year.
As it became known, the above-described courses provide for the allocation of 300 academic hours for:
- for studying the theory – 90 hours (within the perimeter of educational institutions);
- for mastering the practice – 210 hours (at the location of training military units, centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and identical structures).
Based on Melnyk's words, the theory is mandatory for both men and women. However, the practice will only affect men who are fit for military service due to health reasons, and for women this type of training is only possible voluntarily (and based on the results of a medical examination).
It should be noted that after this training, students take the military oath and also receive a certificate with a military registration specialty (MRS).
