The representative of the Foreign Ministry commented on the pro-Russian statements of the Romanian politician, which call into question the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Tikhyi called Georgescu's statements a manifestation of disrespect for our country and its people, writes NBN.
The candidate for the presidency of Romania said that if he is elected to the post of head of state, he will advocate the “return” of territories as a result of the “division” of Ukraine after negotiations with the Russian Federation to end the war.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman drew attention to the fact that Georgescu's attempts to position himself as an “independent” politician look absurd against the background of the theses of Russian propaganda he voiced. The presidential candidate's words indicate his complete dependence on the Kremlin.
The representative of the ministry noted that achieving peace in Ukraine is in the interests of Romania and its citizens, but this is not part of Moscow's plans. The official added that Kyiv is counting on the further development of relations with Bucharest.
