In an interview with the British publication The Guardian, the Ukrainian leader denied rumors that Boris Johnson, who was then the head of government, Great Britain, in the spring of 2022, dissuaded him from a peace treaty with Russia.

The president revealed that Moscow had issued ultimatums several times, to which he had never agreed, NBN writes.

The guarantor said that Johnson had not influenced his decisions in any way. The head of state denied allegations that the British politician had come to Kyiv in April 2022 to guarantee Ukraine's refusal to sign a peace agreement with Russia, which was discussed at the talks in Istanbul in March. Zelensky drew attention to the fact that the Kremlin dictator really likes this story.

The leader of the Ukrainians added that the real pressure on Kiev to sign a peace agreement with Moscow had already dissipated by the time of Johnson's visit, in addition, in April the Defense Forces had already driven the invaders out of the suburbs of the capital.

Note that in the interview, the president named the number of troops that the Russian Federation intends to prepare in Belarus within a year.
