As NBN reports with reference to the YouTube channel iFixit, Apple engineers have somewhat improved the repairability of the iPhone 16e, but some standard difficulties remain with the gadget.
As it turned out, the disassembly process still requires a lot of manipulation and additional tools, but progress is being made. For example, iFixit specialists did not notice any problems when replacing the iPhone 16e printed circuit boards due to the lack of software blocking. At the same time, the battery is secured with an electrically activated adhesive compound: if you apply a voltage of 9-30 volts to a special plate, it can be removed in 5 seconds. The overall repairability rating is 7 points out of 10.
The iPhone 16e's layout is also simplified, with only one camera lens, no Home button, and no MagSafe charging: enthusiasts believe the latter will reduce battery wear.
In addition, the new Apple C1 modem consumes less energy, and therefore the owners of the “device” will receive long-term autonomy. The module has a layout structure identical to the Qualcomm analogue, and the transceiver is located on the back side of the board.
In addition to all of the above, Apple has released instructions on how to repair the USB-C connector: the procedure still requires removing several components, but additional protection for the cable against accidental damage has been installed.
