A UK intelligence report notes that Russia's healthcare system is underfunded due to Moscow's high costs of waging war against Ukraine.
At the same time, the scale of the occupiers' losses continues to put a strain on the country's military medical system, writes the NBN publication, citing the UK Ministry of Defence's page on the social network H.
Medical resources have been diverted from civilians to the invaders, compounding the widespread impact on civilian health facilities.
British intelligence predicts that the number of medical workers in civilian hospitals in Russia will continue to decline over the course of the year, with residents of small towns and villages suffering the most. At least 160 state hospitals closed in the aggressor country last year, including 18 maternity hospitals and at least 10 children's clinics.
Earlier, British intelligence explained why the Kremlin will have to increase spending on the war against Ukraine.
