As NBN reports with reference to the Espresso article, Defense Express analyst Sergei Zgurets made a statement: Putin’s troops have made little progress on the front since the beginning of the current year, if we compare them with the same period in the previous year.
Based on Zgurts’ words, the Kremlin is throwing out propaganda cliches regarding the successes of the offensive, trying to intimidate Ukraine and EU countries by saying that Putin’s army has allegedly made significant progress on the front line.
However, if we assess the situation in various sections of the front, then since January the enemy has been capturing no more than 18-20 kilometers per day, which is certainly an insignificant figure.
The analyst added that despite the above-described advance of the Russian occupation forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to effectively hold the line, carrying out appropriate measures aimed at further containing the enemy’s advance.
Zgurets summed up:
…The situation even in the Kursk region shows that we have the ability to actually carry out measures that further restrain the enemy and inflict significant losses on him.
Earlier we wrote that Defense Express assessed the threat of an occupiers’ offensive on Sumy.
