The easing of pressure on Russia is being recorded against the backdrop of attempts by the new US administration to obtain Moscow's consent to end the war in Ukraine.

As NBN reports with reference to Radio Liberty, a number of American structures that ensure national security are ceasing work aimed at coordinating efforts related to countering cyber attacks, sabotage and disinformation campaigns by the Russian Federation.
As it became known, in 2024, at the instigation of the Joseph Biden administration, at least 7 services under the leadership of the National Security Council under the US President worked with European colleagues, trying to prevent the expansion of the Russian threat. In particular, the order regarding the creation of these groups was given as a result of the emergence of constant warnings from the US intelligence services regarding the escalation of Moscow's “hybrid” war against Western countries.
After the new US administration came to power, this type of work was stopped, but it is unknown whether Donald Trump gave this order or whether the leadership of the national agencies made decisions independently of the White House.
