As reported by NBN with reference to The Telegraph, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer allow the possibility of forming the above-described mission under the auspices of the UN, which will prevent a new attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, provided that a peace agreement is concluded.
As it became known, Macron and Starmer not only planned to speed up the process of expanding the “coalition of the willing” by involving more member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union, thus intending to create peacekeeping forces on the condition that the United States provides security guarantees for Ukraine.
In particular, the French President additionally touched upon the topic of sending a UN peacekeeping mission to Ukraine, raising this issue during the European Council summit, where this decision was discussed with the Secretary General of the said organization, António Guterres.
