Since the evening of Thursday, March 20, Putin's army has carried out a series of air attacks on Ukraine, launching more than 200 kamikaze drones – the Russian strikes were aimed at civilian infrastructure.

As reported by NBN, citing The Hill, the US State Department press secretary Tammy Bruce made a statement that at the current stage, Kyiv and Moscow are only “a few steps away from a complete ceasefire.”

Based on Bruce's words, the United States is in a position to reasonably claim not just a short-term “freeze” of military actions for 7 days or six months, but the achievement of a lasting peace that the people of Ukraine and Russia can count on.

The State Department spokeswoman added that it was the new White House administration that helped speed up the ceasefire and continues to do so virtually every day, and therefore:

…We have never been closer to peace with these two sides [Ukraine and Russia].

It should be noted that on Wednesday, March 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that one of the first steps toward a full-fledged ceasefire could be an end to Russian shelling of Ukraine's energy and civilian infrastructure, which the Kremlin ultimately ignored.

Earlier we wrote that the General Staff explained the purpose for which the Russian Federation accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of shelling the Sudzha GIS.
