Friedrich Merz will soon become the head of the German government. The Ukrainian leader, during a conversation with representatives of the European media, said that the new chancellor makes an impression on him as a decisive person.
According to him, after Merz becomes head of Germany, he intends to ask him for supplies of Taurus air-launched cruise missiles. Kyiv has long hoped to receive this weapon, writes the NBN publication.
Zelensky noted that the newly elected head of the German government knows about Ukraine's desire to negotiate the transfer of these missiles, because they will help our country.
Answering a question about discussing the possibility of sending German troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission by European states, the president said that there has not yet been any such discussion.
Also in the interview, the head of state explained why Putin will not be able to control society in Russia for long and fight against our country.
