As reported by NBN with reference to NBCNews material, US President Donald Trump made the traditional statement: the United States is not against taking control of Greenland by any available means.
Based on Trump's words, there is a “strong possibility” of actually annexing Greenland without the use of “military force,” but if diplomatic efforts prove futile, then there are various options/scenarios that remain “on the table.”
The US President also does not care how Russia and the rest of the world community will react to the potential annexation of the island, since Greenland is a “very separate issue,” the settlement of which will support international security [the Pentagon will be able to track the movement of Russian and Chinese ships off the coast of the island], and, supposedly, will demonstrate US strength.
Moreover, such an occupation of Greenland by America, in Trump's opinion, would not harm either the world or the United States.
