The Center for Countering Disinformation commented on the announcement by Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin of a mass conscription of conscripts into the army.

The CPD reported that the head of the Kremlin announced the largest conscription of conscripts into the army in 14 years. They recalled that the Russian Defense Ministry planned to replenish the occupation forces by 160,000 fighters this spring – this is more than in the last three years of the war, writes NBN.
In the spring of 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defense sent 134,500 Russians to serve in the Armed Forces, and 120,000 citizens in the fall. In 2023, 147,000 people were called up for occupation forces in the spring and 130,000 in the fall. In 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense replenished the army by 150,000 fighters in the spring and by 133,000 in the fall.
The CPD noted that the authorities of the aggressor country claim that conscripts are not sent to the so-called “special operation” zone. However, soldiers are forced to sign contracts with the defense department and they end up on the front lines.
The CPD added that conscription is one of Moscow's ways to compensate for the losses of the “second army in the world” on the front in Ukraine. In addition, Putin's order indicates that the Russian Federation intends to continue the war.
Earlier, the media reported that US President Donald Trump is using the critical situation in Ukraine as a “golden business opportunity.”
