The United States has periodically helped regions affected by tsunamis, earthquakes and other disasters by sending humanitarian aid, but White House chief Donald Trump has suspended the provision of external support.

As reported by NBN, citing Reuters material, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio made a statement: the United States no longer intends to bear the main burden of providing global humanitarian aid.
Based on Rubio's words, the White House is not the government of the world, and will provide the above-described type of aid at the level of other countries, “as best” as it can, primarily taking into account American, not international, needs.
The official added that the United States is not prepared to provide 60-70 percent of all humanitarian aid on the planet, since such actions are unfair, and there are many other rich countries that are able to make their own contribution [referring to China and India].
Rubio stressed that despite the fact that the United States is the richest country in the world, the American resource base is not unlimited, especially if we take into account the “enormous” national debt.
The Secretary of State emphasized:
…It’s time to rethink all of this. We will help as much as we can. But we have other priorities that we must take care of.
