As reported by NBN, citing the YouTube channel of military/presenter Anna Maksimchuk, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, made a statement: after the end of the war, the Russian elite does not plan to reduce the size of its army, since the Putin regime needs such an increased number, “according to their strategy.”
Based on Budanov’s words, at the current stage of the war, 50 percent of the entire military budget of the terrorist state goes towards various additional payments to the occupiers, one-time payments for signing a contract with the defense department, as well as compensation for injury or death.
The remaining expenditure portion of the above budget is spent on:
- acquisition of ammunition (probably from North Korea and Iran);
- restoration/maintenance of damaged and obsolete technical equipment.
According to the heads of the GUR, when active military operations end, the Russian budget will no longer have to make the specified payments, that is, the problems will disappear, and huge funds will be freed up, and therefore:
…There will be no reduction [of the Russian Armed Forces].
