As reported by NBN, citing sources from Reuters, the White House administration has made a decision to restore at least six suspended US foreign programs aimed at providing emergency food aid.
It has been revealed that Acting USAID Deputy Administrator Jeremy Levin, identified as a member of the Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), has sent requests to staff (via internal email) indicating the need to reverse the cancellation of funding for the World Food Program.
In particular, the US intends to provide assistance to Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, Jordan, Iraq and Ecuador again. Grant funding for the International Organization for Migration, which operates in the Pacific region, will also continue.
According to unspecified sources, the above decision was made by the Trump administration amid increasing pressure from the US Senate and Congress.
