A representative of Zelensky's office told Reuters that no one, especially Russia, will dictate to Ukraine what kind of army it should have. In addition, the limitation of the number of the Ukrainian Armed Forces or the combat readiness of the troops will not be discussed during the peace talks, these are “red lines.”
According to him, this is Kyiv’s principled position, which the Ukrainian leadership conveyed to Washington, writes the NBN publication.
Palisa noted that well-trained armed forces are the best guarantee of security for our country after the end of the war. The army will be able to protect Ukraine in the event of a new Russian invasion.
The official explained that the Kremlin is seeking a reduction in the number of Ukrainian Armed Forces in order to “make life easier for itself in the future,” but Kyiv will not accept this condition of the aggressor.
