Disney has released the first teaser for “Lilo and Stitch.” The new adaptation of the cult cartoon stars young actress Maya Kealoha in the lead role, writes WomanEL. The film is directed by Dean Fleischer-Kamp, who received recognition for the film “Marcel – Shell in Boots.” He promises to preserve the warm atmosphere of the original story, adding modern accents.

Maya will play a lonely girl from Hawaii, Lilo, who faces difficulties in relationships with her peers. Her life changes forever when she meets an unusual friend – an alien named Stitch, who becomes a real family for her.
Hollywood stars also joined the cast:
- Zach Galifianakis as Dr. Jamba Jukiba, Stitch's inventor.
- Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleckley, a self-proclaimed expert on Earth culture.
The film is based on the plot of the original 2002 cartoon, which won the love of millions of viewers around the world. At the heart of the story are the themes of family, friendship and acceptance, which are always relevant. Hawaiian culture and picturesque landscapes will also become an important part of the aesthetics, and Stitch will once again touch the audience with his mischievous but kind heart. The film is scheduled to premiere on May 23, 2025.
