A unique sculpture has been restored on the Landscape Alley in Kyiv, which remained damaged for two years due to an act of vandalism. A feature of the updated statue is a bionic prosthesis instead of a lost hand. WomanEL tells how “The Little Prince” became a symbol of resilience and modern realities.
The author of the work, the famous Ukrainian sculptor Kostyantyn Skrytutsky, announced that from now on “The Little Prince” has a bionic prosthesis instead of a lost hand. The figure, which stood without a limb for two years after the act of vandalism, has received a new life thanks to the “Hold My Hand” project. Activists and artists joined forces to remind us of the consequences of war.

According to activist and cultural heritage defender Dmitry Perov, the Little Prince with a prosthesis symbolizes the realities of today, when war destroys lives and leaves unforgettable wounds.
This sculpture has become not only part of the urban landscape, but also a reminder of resilience in the face of challenges. Now it will also symbolically protect the Landscape Alley from development, – noted Perov.
The return of the “Little Prince” is not only a gesture of restoration, but also a call to preserve cultural monuments that add uniqueness and soul to the city.
