The famous Ukrainian writer and musician Serhiy Zhadan, together with composer Yuriy Gurzhy, released a joint album called “Semaphores”, writes WomanEL. The new compositions are dedicated to people who were forced to leave their homes, but retain faith in their return.
Zhadan reported this on his Instagram page, noting that the album was recorded in the fall. The lyrics were created in a Kharkiv studio, and the music for them was written by Yuriy Gurzhy.

According to Zhadan, the key element of the album was a unique musical style that combines gospel, choirs, and modern arrangements.
Yura is flexible in terms of music, easily juggling different directions, rhythms, and instruments. His unconventional musical brains are something that is interesting to work with, Zhadan shared.
The album reveals the themes of the road, home, and hope. The central image of “Semaphore” is a guide, a carrier, someone who helps others find their way home or supports them in difficult times.
The road is what unites. And this is the possibility of return. For me, it is important to say that we believe in return. This faith lives in every song of the album, — the musician noted.
Zhadan also announced that soon all the tracks of the album will be available on popular music platforms. So fans of Zhadan and Gurzhy's work can already prepare for a real musical discovery. The songs of “Semaphores” are not only a melody and words, but also a step towards understanding the path that millions of Ukrainians are taking in times of trial.
Earlier, Zhadan and Karpa presented the exclusive vinyl SKOVORODANCE.
