Mortars resembling fireworks and fuel canisters were found in the back of the Cybertruck. Investigators are investigating whether the explosion was intentional and for what purpose. Tesla is actively cooperating with the investigation.
Billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented on the situation on his account on the X social network (formerly Twitter). He stated that the cause of the explosion was fireworks or a bomb that was transported in the body, and emphasized that the vehicle itself was not involved in the explosion.
The Cybertruck actually localized the explosion by directing it upwards, thanks to which the glass doors of the hotel remained intact. Evil idiots chose the wrong car for the terrorist attack, – wrote Musk.
Elon Musk also suggested that this incident could be related to the terrorist attack in New Orleans, where a Ford pickup truck was used. According to him, both cars were rented through the same car-sharing platform.
The explosion killed the driver of the car and injured seven people. The hotel was evacuated and the fire was quickly extinguished.
We also reported that Elon Musk had changed his name.
