On January 8, the legendary work of Nikolai Gogol – “The Night Before Christmas” will come to life on the stage of the Kyiv Academic Theater “Actor”. The comedy “Golden Girls” awaits the audience on January 17, 18, 19 at the Kyiv Academic Drama Theater in Podil. This is the story of three women who lost their husbands, but did not lose the ability to enjoy life.

On January 24 and 25, the Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theater will present Giuseppe Verdi's twenty-sixth opera, based on the works of William Shakespeare, which has received a new sound in Ukraine. The composer called this work a lyrical comedy, and its plot is based on the plays “Henry IV” and “The Wives of Windsor”.
The Ukrainian translation of the libretto, brilliantly performed by Maksym Strikha, allowed an even wider audience to appreciate Verdi's mastery of combining drama and comedy. This translation opens up new facets of the famous opera and makes it accessible to the Ukrainian stage.
