TikTok has stopped working in the US

The US Supreme Court has upheld a ban on the use of TikTok, passed by Congress and signed by President Joe Biden back in April 2024, reports WomanEL. This decision prohibits American companies from hosting or serving the platform's content unless it is sold to a buyer from the US or allied countries.

American users report that an error occurs when logging into TikTok, and the application has disappeared from the App Store and Google Play.

Some experts consider the ban a marketing ploy aimed at stimulating the sale of TikTok to American companies. After all, if the application remains blocked, another platform will quickly take its place.

Many Americans have already started switching to the Chinese analogue RedNote, and in Europe there are calls to consider a similar ban. In particular, the head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry stated the need to follow the example of the United States.

Will TikTok return to the American market? Donald Trump may try to help restore the platform. In the meantime, the fate of one of the most popular applications remains uncertain.
