13-year-old Yana Stepanenko lost both legs during a Russian missile attack two years ago, but she didn't give up, reports WomanEL. The young girl began the path of prosthetics and rehabilitation. Thanks to an internal rod and extraordinary work on herself, she has already covered the distance of the world marathon for the second time.
Today, Yana reminds us of Ukraine – which, despite everything, moves forward and overcomes all obstacles,
said the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi.
Yana Stepanenko not only ran a 5-kilometer distance in Tokyo, but is also raising funds for sports prostheses for 36-year-old Oleksandr Zhavnenko from Lviv.
