A spaghetti-covered clutch topped with cherry tomatoes and basil leaves? This could be a new collection only from Moschino, reports WomanEL. Building on the popular baguette and celery versions from previous seasons, creative director Adrian Appiolaza knows how to feed a fashion-hungry audience around the world.
Inspired by the legacy of Franco Moschino, Appiolaza doesn't just recreate iconic looks, he plays with them, adding something new. The FW'25 collection began with a reinterpretation of the iconic 1992 dress: three flowing silhouettes frozen in a moment, as if the garment was still in the process of being created. All over the fabric there are intentionally unfinished seams, on the sleeves there are shoulder pads that bulge, and on top of the material there are needles. One model walked the catwalk in a dress that seemed to be torn on the run, and another in a sweater with holes that form a sly smile.
As for accessories, they, as always, go beyond the usual Moschino: a pillow instead of a hat, earrings in the shape of light bulbs, Polaroid brooches, and even a bag in the shape of spaghetti or wine – an obvious tribute to the brand's Italian roots.
Appiolaza's collection is a reminder that fashion shouldn't be predictable. Clothes, like art, are meant to evoke emotion. If things don't make you smile or at least wonder, what's the point?
