On March 20, the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, together with the Foundation team, visited the Åland Islands, an autonomy within Finland, reports WomanEL. The Speaker of the Parliament, Jørgen Pettersson, and members of the government supported one of the Foundation's large-scale projects – the restoration and arrangement of shelters in schools and kindergartens.
I thank the government of the Åland Islands, an autonomous region within Finland, for today's meeting, during which we discussed the implementation of my Foundation's project to equip shelters in schools and kindergartens. Thanks to the support of the Åland Islands, we are already restoring and equipping 12 shelters, which will be operational for children at the beginning of the new school year,
Olena Zelenska noted.
The Åland Islands are currently the Foundation's largest partner in this project. They have provided 3 million euros for the construction of shelters that are being rebuilt in the Dnipro, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions.
Finland has an unprecedented experience in building bomb shelters that can shelter over 90% of the country's population. At one time, the creation of shelters was a forced response for the Finns to Russian aggression. So they understand better than anyone the importance of this project for us.
For the meeting, the first lady chose a stylish blue suit, which consisted of an elongated jacket and flared pants with arrows. There was a fabric belt in the tone at the waist. And the look was complemented by black pointed-toe shoes and light styling with nude makeup.
